Wacom Tablets

Here at JNPcreative we use some really cool pieces of Wacom technology everyday to make sure that we deliver the best quality work possible. Wacom are one of the largest businesses who specialise in producing technology for the creative world, they produce products such as drawing tablets to standalone stylus’ and applications to aid creativity.

Over the years we’ve used a few Wacom tablets and we’re going to tell you why owning one will change the way you work.

Wacom Bamboo tablet (product discontinued) / One by Wacom (Bamboo replacement)

The Wacom Bamboo tablet was a brilliant, affordable piece of kit that allowed you to design on the go as it was small, light and reliable. This product has since been discontinued and has been replaced by a newer model called the One by Wacom. This product can be used in the same way as its predecessor but now offers a much larger drawing area. It is a product that JNPcreative would recommend for a beginner, mobile designer or a design enthusiast looking to develop their skills affordably.

Some let downs compared to other Wacom products would be the stylus. With this model the stylus has limited pressure capabilities and does’t have a built in eraser, however, you are able to assign an eraser function to buttons located on the body of the stylus.

Wacom Bamboo One

The price of the Bamboo Tablet at the time (2014) was £49.95, which was a bargain for what a designer could get out of the product so, now with the evolution of the Bamboo into the One by Wacom £59.95 (2019 via the Wacom store) you’re getting the same benefits that have all been enhanced and refined as well as a larger drawing area. So if you are looking for your first Wacom tablet this get’s a 8.3/10 rating from JNPcreative.

Wacom Cintiq Pro 13 HD

The Wacom pen display tablets are the premium tablets that not only combine all the features of the previous tablets talked about in this article but they also have a screen built in so you can draw and see what you are drawing or designing with ease. The screen is such a fantastic feature as you really have full control over your designs and it also means that you don’t have to look at your computer monitor and not at your tablet which is what the previous tablets only allow you to do, this also takes a bit of time to get used to. The Wacom Cintiq Pro 13 HD allows anyone to hit the ground running and gives professionals another way to make their design and production time that much shorter and efficient.

There really are no negatives about this product, it comes with android built in and has a HDMI port so you can link it to your computer to use with professional design software like the Adobe Creative Suite and Autodesk Products.
